Thursday Night Sitting Group – 7:00 to 8:45 p.m.
(YOU room downstairs)
This group is led by several of the experienced members of our Sangha, many trained at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in the Bay Area. It offers more teaching and guided meditation than the Monday night group. Each meeting includes a time of silent meditation, a short dharma talk, and a discussion period. Chairs provided.
NEW Half-day Retreats Twice a Month
In order to offer opportunities for people to deepen practice during daily life, the Sangha will offer half-day silent retreats on the first and third Tuesday of each month. We meet from 9-11:30AM in the Chapel at Unity Church. The retreats will be led by members of our teacher team or experienced students. Each morning’s practice will follow this schedule:
- 9:00 – 9:45 am Sitting
- 9:45 – 10:30 am Walking
- 10:30 – 11:15 am Sitting
- 11:15 – 11:30 am Dharmette (Brief talk) or Q and A with a teacher, or dharma discussion facilitated by an experienced student.
After the morning’s practice, those who wish are invited to meet for a sack lunch in Alice Keck Park gardens—weather permitting. You are welcome to come for as much of the morning as your schedule allows. If you arrive when a sitting period has already begun, please do enter the Chapel quietly and find a seat. These retreats are offered freely, and your dana is gratefully welcomed.
